Cylon TC218 Overview

The Smoant Cylon TC218 features 218 watts of output, an updated chipboard, instant firing, custom curve modes, a large color TFT display, two interface choices, customizable wallpaper, high-quality leather, and a compact design.

Measuring only 47mm x 32mm x 90mm, this mod is very compact. The device utilizes high-quality leather on both sides for ergonomics and an exquisite appearance.  The 510 connector at the top is centered and can accommodate atomizers up to 30mm in diameter.  The unit is only available in black, but a brown one is set to be released very soon.

The centerpiece of the control face is the full-color TFT display that measures 1.3 inches to ensure vape data can be easily seen.  The screen offers to alternate user interfaces. The first features a speedometer menu inspired by a Lexus LS sport. At the same time, the second is more traditional and displays two battery bars, the Smoant logo, current power/temperature, voltage, resistance, and mode. The background on the screen can be customized in the settings menu and offers nine alternate photos. Whether the wallpaper can be personalized is uncertain, but we imagine it is via the micro USB port.

Powering this mod are dual 18650 batteries that are bottom loaded by opening a sliding/hinged panel.  The cells can be charged via the USB port or use the USB interface to perform firmware upgrades.

The Cylon TC 218 is built with an Ant218 V2 chipboard which is said to be the latest and greatest and allows the unit to almost instantly fire within 0.015 seconds.  As a result of the chip, the mod can operate in a myriad of modes, including power mode, power curve mode, temperature control mode (works with nickel, titanium, and stainless steel heating elements), temperature control curve mode, and TCR mode. The curve modes allow setting custom wattage/temperature at several intervals for 10 seconds of initial firing. The maximum power is 218 watts, the maximum temperature output comes in at 600 degrees Fahrenheit, and the lowest atomizer resistance is 0.05ohm in variable temperature mode and 0.10 in power mode. To ensure safe vaping, the unit is built with over-time protection, short circuit protection, low voltage protection, overload protection, overheat protection and reverse polarity protection.
