Smok Fortis – Quick Summary

Fortis Mod 

Available in 6 different colors, the Smok Fortis is a portable vape system and features an exquisite appearance.  Smok has stated they went out of their way to design an aesthetically pleasing kit that is also ergonomic.  Similar in shape to a cylinder, the grip of the mod is covered in full-grained leather to make it comfortable to handle and lightweight.  Choose from silver, black, blue, brown, red, or 7-color.

Inside the box mod, a 21700 battery effortlessly installs via a bottom flip cap, but if you only have a 18650 cell, that will fit as well, albeit power is reduced to 80 watts instead of 100.   An easily accessed USB Type-C interface will also replenish the battery fast. Just plug it into any USB outlet with the included cable.

Changing the output or other settings is also effortless, thanks to a full-color 0.96″ display screen that shows all pertinent information at a glance.  On the UI, you will see operational data such as the battery’s charge level, the current wattage, the last puff time, the atomizer resistance, the current voltage, and a puff counter.

Perhaps the best aspect of the display screen is that you can personalize the theme colors.  Set the background color to red, yellow, blue, green, pink, or white at the touch of a button.

As many know, Smok only releases safe products, and the Smok Fortis is no exception.  To ensure a secure vape experience, the mod can detect the atomizer’s coil, prevent firing for longer than 8 seconds, and has short-circuit and low-voltage protection.

Fortis Kit

The Smok Box Mod Kit comes with a TFV18 Mini Tank, but the setup is also available with a TFV Mini V2 Tank.  This Smok Tank uses meshed coils that spread heat over a larger area of the head to produce massive vape clouds with a ton of flavor.  Mesh coils also heat up faster, so this atomizer perfectly matches the mod, which fires almost instantaneously.

With purchase, you will receive two 0.2ohm V18 Mini Meshed coils with a wider heating area and an operating capability ranging from 40 to 80 watts.  For massive vapor and mild flavor, it is recommended to fire with about 60 watts of power.

There are two additional compatible coils: the V18 Mini Meshed 0.33ohm coil (80 to 140 watts) and the V18 Mini Dual Meshed  0.15ohm coil (80 to 110 watts).  These two are not included, so you must buy them separately.

The juice capacity is an incredible 6.5mL, which is very high for such a tiny setup.  Moreover, refilling is easy by using a filling slot hidden underneath the top cap.  To add vape juice, press the button underneath the drip tip to open the top cap and reveal a large juice port.

Finally, the atomizer’s airflow features a bottom-to-top air system with three large intake slots to produce massive vapor and release all the extra heat.  By rotating the bottom airflow ring, you may adjust the air intake to have either a mouth-to-lung or a direct-to-lung puff style or anywhere in between.
